Robert Comer was executed on 22 May in Arizona. He had been sentenced to death for murder in 1988. He was also convicted of kidnapping, assault and sexual assault in two separate cases.
BR/>
This was the first execution carried out in Arizona since November 2000.
BR/>
Robert Comer is the 20th person to be executed in the USA this year and the 1,077th to be put to death there since judicial killing resumed in 1977.
